Madoc Betsy Ross

1998, 12.1 Grey Section A Welsh Mare
"Bitsy" is our driving mare deluxe. Broke to ride and drive, we think she is the very embodiment of the Welsh breed. Bred by Mary Alice Williams of Madoc Welsh and brought home to Ohio as a yearling, Bitsy has gorgeous, structure and an ample share of "Fire in the Belly". See her beautiful shoulder lay back, her good, flat bone and roomy body. Her elegant neck, big liquid eye, tiny ears and dishy little face stamp her as a "good one" and show her classic, old Welsh pedigrees.

On her dam's side, Bitsy goes back to Coed Coch Prydydd and Cussep Sheriff. Her sire is classically bred Brookside going back to Friar's Sweet William. It is the combination of these classic sires that make her such a breathtakingly beautiful mare. Bitsy has won championship ribbons at some of the best pleasure driving shows in the United States and Canada. We have busy lives and never slow down - we have plans for breeding her to a Gayfield's stallion but haven't gotten around to that. Life is full of possiblities. We dream of the day a gorgeous baby runs by her side. Until then, we'll just keep driving and loving Bitsy.
